Day 01: HoChiMinh – CaiBe – Vinh Long - Can Tho (B/L)
At 7:00 AM, our guide and van will meet you at your designated location and transport you to Cai Be. Along the way, there will be rest stops, and the journey will take approximately two hours.
Upon arrival in Cai Be, we will board a boat to witness the spectacular scenery of the Mekong Delta. The Delta is the agricultural hub of southern Vietnam, and one of the most important fishing regions in Vietnam. We will experience life on the boat and learn about the local culture.
Next, we will visit a local village and observe how traditional products such as Pop rice cake, rice wine, rice paper, and sticky, toffee-like coconut candy are made. Following that, we will travel by boat to a beautiful island and take a skinny sampan/rowing boat through a small alley canal, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
Afterward, we will cross the Mekong River and arrive in Vinh Long. Here, we will partake in a cooking class with locals, gaining more insight into Vietnamese cuisine. Lunch will be served at a local leaf-roof restaurant, featuring fresh spring rolls, whole grilled fish, curries, rice, fresh fruit, and other delectable dishes. There will be time for rest, kayaking, or a bike ride around the Rambutan garden.
Before heading to Can Tho City, we will stop at an old house en route. Can Tho (Cai Rang floating market) has become a popular eco-tourism destination in Vietnam, attracting an increasing number of visitors and researchers daily. We will arrive at our hotel or homestay in Can Tho at approximately 4:30 PM. After check-in, dinner will be served, and you will have free time to explore.
Day 02: Can Tho – Cai Rang Floating Market – Ho Chi Minh City (B/L)
At 5:30 AM, we will depart from our hotel or homestay for a trip to the Cai Rang floating market, which is the largest floating market on the Mekong River and takes about 30 minutes by boat. During this visit, we will board a merchant boat selling pineapples and have the opportunity to sample fruits from the local boat's top. This is an excellent opportunity for taking stunning photographs and observing the real-life of many people buying and selling fruits on the river.
After that, our boat continues on to a local market and a small noodle and rice paper factory. At 8:30 am, we will return to our homestay or hotel for breakfast (if late, we will have breakfast outside on the way). As we return to Ho Chi Minh City, we will stop to visit the beautiful Cambodia Pagoda and have lunch at the Mekong's largest and most beautiful restaurant.
